Harden up
About 28-29kms last night, half of them as bad I've ever ran, the second half as good. Weather still shockingly bad and cold. Experienced the worst London running has to offer, bitter cold, horrendous traffic and smog, pedestrians everywhere, stitch, major stomach cramps, knee pain and general complete lack of inspiration to run. Even if running past some of London's most famous buildings .However after a hectic and boozy weekend in Barcelona was to be expected.
Contemplated finishing the run when home, but battled onto the gym, took an overdue toilet stop, then gutsed out 1 hour on the treadmill which went surprisingly well. Knee and ankle pain seem to dissipate as the run went on, and by the last few kms was really flying. Helped with some cranking tunes on the Ipod.
Much more confident about laying down a decent marathon time after that effort. Woke up this morning so tired I had to snooze three times though, and work proving difficult but money in the bank as they say. Running home tonight and will take it easy. 25 days to go, a huge week and a half coming up. Plan to really get some decent sleep the next 4-5 days, as last night only got 6 hours which is nowhere near enough.
